Trump Requires England to Change Speech Laws as a Precondition of a Trade Deal
14 of the 25 least corrupt nations in the wold are in NATO. The United States does not make the top 25 least corrupt nations. Europe consistently beats the U.S.A on the ethics of corruption.
Here is how things break down:
According to the 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index from Transparency International, Denmark is ranked #1, the least corrupt nation in the world.
Finland is the second least corrupt nation in the world.
The Netherlands is #9 least corrupt nation in the world.
United Kingdom is ranked #20
The United States of America is ranked #28.
Ukraine is ranked #105.
Brazil, Thailand and Turkey are ranked #107
The Phillipines is ranked #114
Mexico comes in at #140
Russia is ranked #154, one of the most corrupt nations in the world.
North Korea is ranked #170.
The bottom thirty are exclusively made up of authoritarian, jihadist and/or communist regimes.
Nonetheless, today, the President of the United States is now demanding that the ethical U.K. submit to U.S. law by changing its free speech laws to match the stated agenda of his Vice President. Simultaneously, he is attempting to make economic and trade deals with Russia, upon which he has imposed no tariffs and is among the most corrupt and free speech crushing nations on earth. Meanwhile he is floating the idea of subverting the freely elected leader of Ukraine, who represents a nation nearly 50 position places less corrupt than Russia.
To be clear, I am a constitutional attorney whose view of Free Speech is linked to the Framers of the United States Constitution, not the British Government, nor the Trump Administration, but I find it extraordinary that the United States would seek to impose our laws and social agenda on our closest ally which is demonstrably less corrupt than the United States, while enabling one of the most corrupt nations on the planet.

14 із 25 найменш корумпованих країн світу входять до НАТО. Сполучені Штати не входять до 25 найменш корумпованих країн. Європа постійно випереджає США щодо етики корупції.

Згідно з індексом сприйняття корупції за 2024 рік від Transparency International, Данія посідає перше місце, найменш корумповану країну у світі.
Фінляндія є другою найменш корумпованою нацією у світі.

Сполучене Королівство посідає 20 місце
Сполучені Штати Америки посідають 28 місце.
Україна займає 105 місце.
Бразилія, Таїланд і Туреччина займають 107 місце
Філіппіни займають 114 місце в рейтингу
Мексика займає 140 місце
Росія займає 154 місце в рейтингу і є однією з найбільш корумпованих країн світу.
Північна Корея займає 170 місце в рейтингу.
Остання тридцятка складається виключно з авторитарних, джихадистських та/або комуністичних режимів.
Незважаючи на це, сьогодні президент Сполучених Штатів вимагає від етичної Великобританії підкоритися законам США, змінивши свої закони про свободу слова відповідно до заявленої програми його віце-президента. Водночас він намагається укласти економічні та торговельні угоди з Росією, на яку він не наклав жодних мит і є однією з найбільш корумпованих і порушників свободи слова націй на землі. Тим часом він висуває ідею підриву вільно обраного лідера України, який представляє націю майже на 50 посад менш корумпованих, ніж Росія.
Щоб було зрозуміло, я адвокат з питань конституції, чий погляд на свободу слова пов’язаний із творцями Конституції Сполучених Штатів, а не з британським урядом чи адміністрацією Трампа, але я вважаю надзвичайним те, що Сполучені Штати прагнуть нав’язати наші закони та соціальну програму нашому найближчому союзнику, який явно менш корумпований, ніж Сполучені Штати, водночас сприяючи одній із найбільш корумпованих націй на планеті.
