TRUMP’S SCANDALOUS CLAIMS ABOUT UKRAINE
President’s Office slams Trump’s scandalous claims about Ukraine
Ukraine has reacted sharply to comments by former U.S. President Donald Trump that if Kyiv had given up claims to its territory of Crimea and renounced plans to join NATO it would have prevented Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Ukraine’s Presidential advisor Mykhailo Podolyak called Trump’s statements nothing more than Russian propaganda.
During the interview on the podcast, Trump said there would be no full-scale Russian invasion if he had been reelected as U.S. president. He also said if Ukraine agreed to give up Crimea, the Ukrainian peninsula Russia occupied in 2014, or gave up aims to join NATO, Putin would have agreed to do a deal.
“And now I don’t think he wants to make a deal,” Trump said. “I think it’s much tougher to make a deal. He’s blowing up the whole place. I mean, he’ll take over the whole place. And it’s very, very sad to watch what happened with Ukraine. Very, very sad.”
The former U.S president also claimed that he did not believe Putin wanted to invade the whole country before, but then he said that he now believes Putin will try to do so.

Офіс президента критикує скандальні заяви Трампа щодо України
Україна різко відреагувала на коментарі екс-президента США Дональда Трампа про те, що якби Київ відмовився від претензій на Крим як свою територію і відмовився від планів вступу в НАТО, це запобігло б повномасштабному вторгненню Москви в Україну.
Радник президента України Михайло Подоляк назвав заяви Трампа не більш ніж російською пропагандою.
Під час інтерв’ю в подкасті Трамп сказав, що не було б повномасштабного російського вторгнення, якби його переобрали президентом США. Він також сказав, що якби Україна погодилася відмовитися від Криму, українського півострова, який Росія окупувала в 2014 році, або відмовилася від намірів приєднатися до НАТО, Путін погодився б укласти угоду.
“І тепер я не думаю, що він хоче укласти угоду”, – сказав Трамп. «Я думаю, що укласти угоду набагато важче. Він підриває все це. Я маю на увазі, що він захопить усе місце. І дуже-дуже сумно спостерігати за тим, що відбувається з Україною. Дуже, дуже сумно».
Колишній президент США також заявив, що раніше не вірив, що Путін хотів вторгнутися на всю країну, але потім сказав, що тепер вірить, що Путін спробує це зробити.
