THE MOST VALUABLE ASSET OF THEM ALL
Who holds the upper hand in an international conflict is a maze of complications. In Russia Putin holds the tap to the oil and gas from Siberia. Those who purchase his product control his money supply. One side needs energy the other needs money. Both sides have a mutual need.
There are other supply taps such as the tap that feeds materiel and technology into Ukraine from the democracies. This tap feeds the war machine that allows Ukrainians to defend their country. The democracies control this tap. They can open or close it according to the will of their citizens.
There is also the propaganda or truth tap that is vital to both sides. Putin is an autocrat who rules by coercion. He must lead his people with a strictly controlled message ensuring that they don’t know too much. Too much truth and they will tear him down.
In Ukraine they open the truth tap wide to remind their people why they fight and to remind the west why they continue to keep their taps open.
The will of the people can remove democratic leaders from power in elections so it is important that people are reminded why they protect refugees, pay higher fuel prices and keep supply taps open.
Other vested interests include the geopolitical interests of China, Iran and India, the financial interests of the international markets, the legal interests of Human Rights and humanitarian interests about the loss of civilian lives.
All these ‘taps’, commodities or interests create a maze through which decision makers have to wander in the hope that their actions produce a successful outcome.
Finally, there is the manpower taps that supply the men or women on the ground who fight and die. This asset is in limited supply and cannot be replaced in the same way as money, truth or oil. This is the most valuable and expensive commodity of them all.

НАЙЦІННІШИЙ АКТИВ З УСІХ
Хто тримає перевагу в міжнародному конфлікті, так це лабіринт ускладнень. У Росії Путін тримає кран для нафти і газу з Сибіру. Ті, хто купує його товар, контролюють його грошову масу. Одній стороні потрібна енергія, іншій потрібні гроші. Обидві сторони мають взаємну потребу.
Існують інші крани постачання, такі як кран, який подає матеріальні засоби та технології в Україну з демократичних країн. Цей кран живить військову машину, яка дозволяє українцям захищати свою країну. Демократії контролюють цей кран. Вони можуть відкривати або закривати його за бажанням своїх громадян.
Існує також кран пропаганди або правди, який є життєво важливим для обох сторін. Путін – автократ, який править силою. Він повинен вести своїх людей суворо контрольованим повідомленням, гарантуючи, що вони не знають занадто багато. Забагато правди, і вони його знесуть.
В Україні широко відкривають крани правди, щоб нагадати своїм людям, чому вони воюють, і нагадати Заходу, чому вони продовжують тримати свої крани відкритими.
Воля народу може усунути демократичних лідерів від влади на виборах, тому важливо, щоб людям нагадали, чому вони захищають біженців, платять вищі ціни на пальне та тримають відкритими крани постачання.
Інші особисті інтереси включають геополітичні інтереси Китаю, Ірану та Індії, фінансові інтереси міжнародних ринків, юридичні інтереси прав людини та гуманітарні інтереси щодо втрат цивільних.
Усі ці «крани», товари чи інтереси створюють лабіринт, через який особи, які приймають рішення, мають блукати в надії, що їхні дії приведуть до успішного результату.
Нарешті, є крани живої сили, які забезпечують чоловіків і жінок на землі, які воюють і гинуть. Цей актив обмежений і не може бути замінений так само, як гроші, правда чи нафта. Це найцінніший і найдорожчий товар з усіх.
