The Russian people are starting to realise the truth.

Finland and Sweden will now add their forces to those of NATO. These two proudly independent states have maintained their neutrality on the Russian border since the end of WW2. Now as a result of Putin’s war on Ukraine they have discovered that their neutrality offers no protection from tyranny.

Finland and Sweden, Denmark, Poland and Germany along with the Baltic States control the Baltic Sea. The Russian Baltic Fleet can not leave St Petersburg safely.

This agreement is a huge political and military defeat to Putin. Putin claimed to be entering Ukraine to prevent Ukraine becoming part of NATO. In so doing he has brought NATO to his borders. NATO has committed itself to increase it’s armed forces in Europe by 300,000 troops.

Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is backfiring badly. Russian troops are dying every day. They know they are not fighting for ‘Mother Russia’ they are fighting for Putin’s ego.

The agreement with Turkey to admit these two new nations shows the increasing unity of NATO. Turkey controls the Bosphorus Straight and the Black Sea. Kaliningrad has been isolated by EU sanctions. NATO completely control the Baltic. Putin has truly painted himself into a corner.

The one thing that people hate most in a leader is failure. Putin is failing and the Russian people are starting to realise the truth.
