TRUCK CONVOY IS HEADING TO WASHINGTON

A Pennsylvania man from Scranton is leading a truck convoyof about 25 vehicles to Washington DC.
Bob Bolus with the Towers & Truckers for America Group left Scranton around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday. His convoy is headed towards Harrisburg, where they plan on doing laps around the downtown area at about 12:30 p.m.
From there, the convoy will head to the DC perimeter.
Local truck drivers are taking a cue from their fellow Canadian counterparts and joining an effort to protest at the nation’s capital.
Bob is the owner of Bolus Truck Parts and Towing Service in Throop.

Maryland and Virginia State Police are not speaking at this time regarding preparations for the truck convoy, but MSP did provide a statement which can be seen below.
“The Maryland State Police is aware of potential protests planned by truck drivers in and around the Maryland National Capital Region. While monitoring the situation throughout the country, Maryland State Troopers from the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, the Automotive Safety Enforcement Division and barracks around the region are working with federal, state and local agencies to monitor developments. State police are coordinating with public safety partners in neighboring states and will be ready to respond appropriately with adequate resources to ensure the free flow of traffic throughout the routes of travel.”
