Маленький актор комічного жанру, єврей, стає президентом після того, як знявся у популярному серіалі, де зіграв гротескну роль президента. Звичайно, не маючи до того професійних якостей, крім акторського таланту, але і це не точно.

Саме так сприйняв західний глядач обрання Зеленського. Як дивний курйоз на політичній мапі світу, як добре що це не в нас, а десь на краю землі.

Скажіть, який образ мав обрати Зеленський після початку вторгнення, щоб апелювати до західного глядача? Це ж лежало на поверхні.

Ну, звісно, це мав бути Чарлі Чаплін, тільки Зеленський.
Переляканий, зворушливий чоловічок, який потрапляє у неймовірні, немислимі обставини, але не здається і вступає у боротьбу зі злом.
Цей образ зрозумілий, рідний, йому співчувають і хочуть допомогти.

Звідси м’яті штани, звідси підкреслена недолугість і дивний вигляд наших делегацій.

Ну, тобто це моя власна теорія, чому так вийшло. Знаючи їхню команду, припускаю що задум був протилежним, але маємо шо маємо.

Зеленському співчувають, його жаліють і хвалять як людину, яка випадково опинилася за штурвалом падаючого літака, вчепилася у штурвал і намагається кудись вирулити.
Західному глядачеві невідомі нюанси, які стоять за цим “випадково”.

Але Зеленському варто пам’ятати одну річ. Найвідоміший фільм Чапліна, його маніфест і вершина творчої кар’єри — “Великий диктатор”. У якому він одночасно зіграв дві ролі, і комічного цирюльника у єврейському гетто, і Гітлера.

Показавши силою свого таланту, якими смішними бувають випадковості. І яка пластична акторська натура, коли одна людина перевтілюється залежно від сценарію у кого завгодно.
Хочеш — у коміка. А хочеш — у кривавого диктатора.

This image is understandable, native, they sympathize with him and want to help him.

Hence the crumpled pants, hence the emphasis on weakness and strange appearance of our delegations.

Well, that is my own theory as to why it happened. Knowing their team, I assume that the idea was the opposite, but we have what we have.

Zelenskyy is sympathized with, pitied and praised as a person who accidentally found himself at the helm of a falling plane, clinging to the helm and trying to steer it somewhere. The nuances behind this “accidental” are unknown to the Western viewer.

But Zelensky should remember one thing. Chaplin’s most famous film, his manifesto and the pinnacle of his creative career, is “The Great Dictator”. In which he simultaneously played two roles, a comic barber in the Jewish ghetto, and Hitler.
