TO MY NON-UKRAINIAN FRIENDS

If you want to understand what’s going on in Ukraine now,
read about Europe in 1938-1939.
1938, Hitler annexed Austria.
A bit later, Hitler occupied Sudetenland.
Both annexations under the false pretense of the need to rectify historical wrongs, to assemble the pieces of a past empire.
The world did nothing.
Emboldened, Hitler invaded Poland in 1939.
And so did Stalin from the other end.
The world still did nothing.
You know what happened next.
…
In a chilling history replay, in 2014, Putin invaded and annexed parts of southern and eastern Ukraine. A much larger area than Sudeneland and about the size of Austria.
The world did nothing.
Emboldened, Putin started a full-scale invasion of entire Ukraine.
The world is still doing nothing.
Sanctions and calls to peace are much appreciated, but at this stage, they are as effective as a bandaid against cancer.
Ukrainians are fighting heroically on land, at sea, and in the air.
Who dares to predict what will happen next IF they fall?
