Thirty-five years ago on this day, Verkhovna Rada of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic adopted the Declaration on the State Sovereignty of Ukraine
This Declaration was confirmed by the Act of Proclamation of Independence of Ukraine on August 24, 1991 as a fundamental document that determined the strategy of Ukraine’s development for the long term.
Carefully and attentively reread the Declaration on the State Sovereignty of Ukraine, and you will understand how Ukraine has developed throughout all the years of independence and why Russia came to Ukraine with a war the likes of which the world has not known since World War II.
